Clay Ground Anchors
Camping on clay is one very challenging substrate! It can be a bit like Russian roulette where the clay could be cracked rock hard dry or wet and sludgy only inches down. GroundGrabba Pro and Pro II are the perfect clay ground anchors that can match that challenge!
If you want to keep a structure secure on clay ground there are a few factors to consider. Often in environments where there is clay ground, there are few trees, possibly none like out at Black Rock Desert in Nevada or the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. Camping or erecting a structure in a sparse environment can be challenging because of the high winds associated with these open areas. Whenever there is a chance of high winds securely anchoring your structure becomes a primary concern.
As if the wind isn't enough, when you're on clay there is also the structure of the ground to contend with. Depending on how much rain there is clay substrates change, they can be really hard and dry one day and after a bit of rain turn into a soft sludge. Traditional ground anchoring techniques may work ok for either of these situations, but in our experience, never both.
Whether you're camping, preparing for an event or at a festival we want you to enjoy yourself, and have a great time outdoors. Keeping your structure securely fastened to the ground should not be at the forefront of your mind when the wind picks up, or a little rain starts coming down. Have the peace of mind that your structure is staying right where it's supposed to be, even on clay ground. Get Ground Grabba today. We have worked hard to create solutions for every situation. Clay ground is no match for the massive grip of a Ground Grabba.
If the clay is super hard it is best to use the GroundGrabba Pro and if it is super hard then we recommend you drill a pilot hole. Use our 1/2" x 12" masonry drill bit then drive your GroundGrabba Pro in...solid, safe and secure. Your tent, shade structure or portable structures are going no-where!
GroundGrabba's hold solid like nothing you've ever experienced before in substrates from loose sand to hard ground.

GroundGrabba Pro II are the perfect clay ground anchors and solution to anchoring in sand or soft earth also especially for large structures. If you enjoy desert exploring you will find the GroundGrabba Pro II has the best anchoring ability you will find. We have personally tested these in a sideways pull tension test to over 1 ton.
The HexHook Pro Lag Bolt Hook is an adaptor plate that slides over the top of the hex head of your GroundGrabba or Lag Bolt to make it easy to secure ropes or other tensioning devices. At one end is the hook and the other is a 3/4" hex tool as part of the key slot. Oh... and if you need to open your beer... they're great for that too!
