We have specifically designed these for uses such as large tarps, shade canopies, and festival tents where often larger pin spike stakes are used.

With the GroundGrabba GR14 Commercial Range, it doesn’t matter if you are using them for large festival tents, solar farms, camping structures, setting up vendor easy-ups for a market, tying down light aircraft, in the film industry for rigging/staging structures, outdoor play equipment, securing outdoor furnishings against hurricane/cyclone season or simply needing permanent placement for garden landscaping – these will help keep your equipment grounded!

How They Work

Our commercial range GR14 work with the same principal of the GR13 general purpose range only increased specs.

The specially designed augur styled flights perform two functions:

To draw the ground anchor into the substrate
To help create an inverted conical shaped area of earth that creates the weight bearing down onto the flights.

We were asked if our 18" GR14US will have the same or greater hold down ability as a 3ft spike stake. The simple answer is YES. The more in-depth answer is YES, IF the substrate is the same type to the full depth of the ground anchor according to our in-house testing.

In other words, if the top 12" of the ground is loose soil, the next is medium density, and the lower part is extremely hard, the 3ft spike will be held by the hardest of grounds and the 18" is held by soft and medium density only. Whereas, if it was all sand or all clay then the GR14US (18") will surpass the 3ft spike by around a factor of X1.5.

Now if we compare a spike stake to a GR14 of the same length and girth, then the difference ranges from around X3 to X7!

Through the depth of one ground anchor the ground can be of different densities and affect outcomes. These all rely on correct deployment in dry conditions.

With our steel galvanized 1080 carbon steel drill-driven screw in ground anchor stakes, you can feel confident that whatever you are anchoring will remain intact and safe in the toughest of weather conditions. GroundGrabba is the heavy duty screw in ground anchor stake for sand or normal to firm substrates.

The advantage of GroundGrabba GR14 range over the old traditional hammer in spike stakes or vehicle axels are that they hold down with greater force and they are installed and removed using a high torque impact drill or other such device. No more sledge hammers or fork lifts! Also, when fully deployed, they are close to neat to the ground and don't stick out like car axels that have a greater potential for injury.

Our GroundGrabba Commercial range are premium quality ground anchors for use with a trade quality heavy duty impact wrench perhaps like one of these or even with a higher torque ability:

Also for pilot holes you'll want to use a masonry drill at least the same length as the GR14 you choose.

Please Note: These are not toys. You will need a powerful drill if attempting to use these in hard ground.

Always start your drill on the lowest torque setting. Use a good quality high torque drill or impact wrench.
For hard or extremely hard grounds we recommend pre-drilling a minimum of a 5/8" pilot hole to help with insertion.
Some grounds will be impenetrable.
